How to install an eSIM on a Samsung Galaxy

Install your travel eSIM on a Samsung Galaxy using a QR code or manual activation details, then leave the line ready for arrival.

01

Before you start

A Samsung Galaxy needs a steady Wi-Fi connection to download the eSIM profile. Turn off VPNs, content blockers, and hotspot-only Wi-Fi while installing.

  • Open the order email on a second device, tablet, laptop, or printed page.
  • Keep your phone charged and connected to Wi-Fi.
  • Use the phone settings app rather than a third-party QR scanner.

02

Install the eSIM

  1. 01Open Settings > Connections > SIM manager > Add eSIM.
  2. 02Choose the option to scan the QR code or choose the option to enter an activation code manually.
  3. 03On some Galaxy models, Add eSIM appears under SIM card manager or Mobile networks depending on One UI version.
  4. 04Wait for the phone to download and add the mobile plan.
  5. 05Name the line something obvious, such as Travel, and keep your primary SIM labelled separately.
  6. 06Leave the eSIM turned off for mobile data until you are ready to use the destination plan.

03

Set it up for travel

  1. 01When you arrive, open Settings > Connections > SIM manager > Mobile data and choose eSIM 1, Travel, Secondary, or the plan label shown on your phone for mobile data.
  2. 02Open Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Access Point Names. Set Access Point Name to data00.telnyx for the travel eSIM.
  3. 03Open Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Data roaming. Set data roaming to OFF in the United States, and ON in every other country.
  4. 04Turn airplane mode on for 30 seconds, then turn it off to force a fresh network registration.

04

If the QR code will not install

  • Check that the eSIM is not already listed in your SIM settings.
  • Use manual activation details if the camera scan fails.
  • Try another Wi-Fi network if the download hangs.
  • Contact support before deleting anything from the phone.
